Description
District Pelvic Health offers a bespoke approach to physical therapy during pregnancy, postpartum, and all the moments in between. Our mission is to empower pregnant people to move confidently through all stages of their pregnancy journey by providing the one-on-one care they deserve.
Physical Therapy // We believe in providing time to hear your story and your reason for seeking care, listening to your specific goals, and making space for a collaborative discussion where together we formulate a plan to reach them! Work with one of our physical therapists for:
Labor & Birth Prep // Whether you want to learn how to prep your body for childbirth while minimizing the impact of pregnancy on your pelvic floor and abdominals, do things differently than a previous pregnancy or birth, are wondering how a prior injury or condition may impact your labor and delivery, or you're tired of hearing your aches and pains are "normal in pregnancy," we're here to empower you!
Postpartum Care // We firmly believe every birthing person should be evaluated by a pelvic floor physical therapist postpartum. While your OB or midwife is checking on the healing of your uterus, incision, or other possible complications, a pelvic floor physical therapist will assess your pelvic floor muscle strength and tone, hip strength and mobility, spine mobility, diastasis recti, rib dysfunctions, and biomechanics that can impact your recovery. Get the individualized care for the rehabilitation every birthing person needs in the 4th trimester plus guidance to safely return to the exercise and activities you love!
Orthopedic Conditions // In addition to our perinatal specialization, we also treat a wide range of orthopedic issues! We have a decade of experience working with endurance athletes, weekend warriors, persistent pain sufferers, and everyone in between looking to return to optimal function after a variety of diagnoses. We are trained in dry needling, cupping, instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), joint mobilization, myofascial release, active soft tissue mobilization, selective functional movement assessment (SFMA), and mobilizations with movement.
Pilates // Pilates has amazing benefits during and after pregnancy. Pilates is a movement system designed to integrate breath, mobility, and strength, making it the perfect framework for supporting your body through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Pilates will teach you to connect and coordinate your breath, deep abdominals, and pelvic floor while optimizing joint mobility and muscle flexibility! We offer:
We're here to provide indivicualized guidance on what your body needs to help you stay moving, help you stay pain free, and help you achieve your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum goals. Working with one of our therapists during your pregnancy establishes the relationship and lines of communication for your postpartum needs. Learn how to manage pre-existing injuries or dysfunctions safely and comfortably during your pregnancy. Prepare for the postpartum period by getting individualized guidance on the optimal recovery strategies, biomechanics, and equipment you may need.
